Who We Are

President / Business Development

Erik Burtis

Erik’s diverse experiences and entrepreneurial ventures began right here in Southern Illinois, born and raised in Eldorado. He began his journey serving in the United States Coast Guard from 1993 to 1997. During his service, he worked as an Aviation Survival man and later transitioned to a role as a Damage Controlman, gaining valuable skills and experiences.

Following his military service, Erik entered the field of construction as an Ironworker Foreman, where he honed his leadership and management abilities until 2003. Building on this foundation, he ventured into entrepreneurship by founding his first business, a steel erection company, which allowed him to apply his construction expertise in a new capacity.

In 2008, Erik expanded his entrepreneurial portfolio with the establishment of Red Bird Machinery, focusing on construction and coal mine maintenance. This venture showcased his adaptability and vision within the industrial sector.

Erik’s entrepreneurial spirit continued to thrive, culminating in the co-founding of Prestige Project Management in 2021. This latest endeavor underscores his ongoing commitment to project execution and management, leveraging his extensive background in construction and business leadership.

Through these varied experiences—from military service to multiple entrepreneurial ventures—Erik has demonstrated resilience, innovation, and a dedication to both personal growth and community impact in Southern Illinois, and beyond.
